Bacterial, Open, Red Sore Disease

Symptoms

  • Hazy or slimy red patches appear on the bodies of fish

  • Open red sores are visible

  • Fish may scratch on objects and gravel

  • Fish will exhibit rapid breathing

  • Fins are clamped tight not displayed out

Organic treatment of fish

  1. Remove infected fish to a hospital tank

  2. Do not raise the temperature of the water

  3. Treat with Organic Control as directed

  4. Extend treatment if needed

  5. If symptoms continue follow with medicinal treatment

Medicinal treatment of fish

  1. Remove infected fish to a hospital tank

  2. Do not raise the temperature of the water

  3. Treat as directed with First Round

  4. If symptoms continue do a 50% water change in a hospital tank and repeat treatment

Original tank treatment

(If Infected Fish Were Moved to Hospital Tank)

  • Do 60% water change other day for a total of three water changes
